Look Before You Leap
I love sharing my client’s stories through portraits and interviews. Part of the 40 over 40 project is to pass on words of wisdom from everyday women going through everyday struggles. I learn something new with each client and Tina was no different. Her energy was contagious. You can’t help but laugh with her and be happy.
Here are a few snippets from Tina’s interview.
What made you get pictures done?
I saw your post for women over 40 and have never done this before so I decided to give it a shot.
How do you think the definition of beauty has changed over the years?
I think beauty comes from within and not from the outside. A person’s character and personality is more important than what they look like.
What would you tell your 20-year-old self?
Look towards living for tomorrow vs living for today. I was very much for living in the moment in my 20’s and now that I look back, I feel like I should have done more.
How would the people around you describe you?
I’m very giving, very social. I like to talk. I keep to myself but when it comes to family and friends, I am outgoing.
What advice would you give a young mom today?
Cherish every moment, they grow up way too fast.
What is a myth about being over 50 you would like to dispel?
That you are old. To me you are only as old as you feel and you act.
How do you think your generation is perceived by the younger generation?
We are old and we don’t have a clue as to what they are going through.
When was the last time you had professional portraits done?
My son’s wedding in 2014.
When have you felt the most confident in life and why?
When I met my husband. He brings out the best in me. He doesn’t let me give up.
What advice would you give your children?
Look before you leap and think before you speak. It is better to keep your mouth shut and thought a fool rather than open it and prove it.
What is on your bucket list?
Going on a cruise with my husband.
