A Family Who Serves Together Stays Together
We love celebrating seniors and sharing their stories. Meet Evan! This local Dutch Fork High School Senior is already set to give back to his community just like Mom and Dad. Evan has completed the fire training at the Center for Advanced Technical Studies (CATE) and has plans to join the South Carolina National Guard where he plans to get nationally certified in fire fighting known as IFSAC.. In the meantime, Evan plans to get his paramedic certification while waiting to attend basic training. Did I mention he’s an Eagle Scout? We are so impressed with this young man!
When I asked Evan what made him decide on firefighting he replied, “I enjoy helping people and being a firefighter seemed like the best way.” Helping the community runs in the family. Meet Mom and Dad who both work for the Richland County Sheriff Department. Dad is Sargent Nate White and Mom is School Resource Officer Sr. Deputy Heather White. We definitely had to get a senior portrait with all three in uniform. Helping the community has become a family affair and we can’t thank the White family enough for their service.
We love to get to know our seniors as we plan and photograph their sessions. Here are a few fun facts about Evan.
Favorite Food: Anything his Dad puts in the smoker.
Best part of high school: The friends you make.
Worst part of high school: The day to day stuff.
Advice for incoming freshman: Find something you enjoy doing and practical ways to use it.
Favorite pastime: Shooting his bow and hanging out with friends
Who is your mentor?: Pastor Rod from East Lake Community Church because he helped me find my way back to God’s path.
This young man has a very bright future ahead! We are so glad we could capture these special moments for Evan and his family.
