Jessica & Kyle: Maternity Session

Another great maternity session in the books! It is getting quite hot here in Columbia, SC but that did not stop this sweet couple. Jessica and Kyle stopped by the studio recently for a maternity session. Jessica stopped by for a consult before her session to choose a few gowns and finalize locations. She chose more conservative gowns to fit her style and she looked beautiful in each one. I always encourage my moms to have their hair and makeup done.

As it turns out, Jessica is a stylist at Shear Indulgence right here in Irmo. She of course did her own hair and makeup which really added to the style of her session. Her husband mentioned she looked like a brunette Marilyn Monroe! You could see the love these two have for each other and the excitement of their growing family. Jessica requested a studio and outdoor session. Normally a maternity session is one or the other although we certainly can do both. It does make for a longer evening and can be tough on my pregnant moms. Being on your feet for long periods of time in your third trimester can get exhausting quickly. Due to her job, Jessica is used to being on her feet and was up for the challenge. Her family has a beautiful lakefront property and Jessica was hoping we could get a few images by the water.

Look at this stunning location! On the day of her session, it was 100 degrees! Armed with a portable fan and lots of water, we headed to the dock. Fortunately, she was able to take a break inside her parent's air-conditioned home. We were able to get some stunning images while attempting to keep mom as cool as possible.  The sunset was perfect!  Thank you Jessica and Kyle for allowing us to capture this special time.
