That’s OK

I love sharing my client’s stories through portraits and interviews. Each client has a unique perspective on the ups and downs of life. My hope is their positivity will inspire others who are going through a tough season in life.

It’s a little intimidating to photograph another photographer but Anna made my job so easy! Here are a few snippets from Anna’s interview.

What made you get pictures done today?

I was intrigued by the 40 over 40 project and thought it was a great way to capture myself during this time in my life.

How do you think the definition of beauty has changed over the years?

We are more accepting of beauty, it’s not a cookie cutter definition anymore. We are looking inside of ourselves and seeing that beauty.

What would you tell your 20-year-old self?

Life is going to change at the drop of a hat. You need to be flexible.

When do you feel you were the most confident in life?

3 years ago when I took a leap of faith and start my own photography business.

How did you feel about turning 50?

I turned 50 during the pandemic. Leading up to that it was just another year, another milestone. I was looking forward to it and knew it was the next step in my journey. I celebrated and embraced it.

How would the people around you describe you?

Patient and creative. Detailed.

What advice would you give your daughters?

Keep being them. They are very outgoing, warm-hearted. They embrace everything that comes their way and handle it like champions. Keep doing what you are doing, keep being yourself and don’t let others bring you down.

What motivates you to wake up in the morning?

I love what I do. I love meeting new people. I love not knowing what the day will bring and just embracing it. I specialize in real estate photography, I photograph anything that has to do with property.

What do you have on your bucket list?

I want to travel, especially to many places in the US. I also want to zipline.

What is your favorite quote or scripture?

I started a podcast a year ago. I catch myself saying this a lot, “That’s ok.” We mess up in life and that’s ok. We just pick ourselves back up and keep going. Life hands us lemons and that’s ok, we can make all kinds of things out of that.
