Beauty is Passion

I had so much fun meeting Rebecca and hearing her story. Here are some snippets from her interview:

I am 42 years old and have lived in SC this time for 2 years. I am a Ph.D. student at the University of SC in the College of Hospitality.

What made you decide to get pictures done today?

2020 was a big year of changes and I am finding myself again. I thought this would help give me some confidence. I have not had professional pictures done since I was in high school.

What have you struggled with most in your life?

Trying to please other people. Coming into my own in my 40’s, I am concerned far less with pleasing other people.

What would you tell your 20 year old self?

You are a lot better than you think you are and move to NY.

How would you define beauty?

Beauty is passion. When I see someone passionate about something, I think they are the most beautiful. When you see someone who likes to cook and they are in their kitchen, they just look happy.

What advice would you give younger ladies today? Find out who you are. Quit trying to find a husband or worrying about your kids, find the time to figure out what makes you happy. No one else is responsible for your happiness but you.

My favorite quote:

Success is like pregnancy, everyone congratulates you but nobody knows how many times you got screwed to get there.”

How has your definition of what is attractive changed?

It’s more about who the person is and less of what they look like.

If there is one thing you could change on how society views women, what would it be?

There is not a one size fits all for success.

Rebecca, your images are beautiful. Thank you for sharing your story with us!
