Meet Mikayla, Class of 2020

Keep smiling! That is what I learned from photographing our latest 2020 graduate. Meet Mikayla, a graduate in Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina. Her last semester of classes were spent in quarantine, graduation was postponed and later moved to a virtual-only celebration, and fifteen minutes into our session, it rained! Despite the interruptions, this graduate was all smiles. Mikayla took seven classes her last semester to graduate on time. She attributes being able to do this to a great family support system.

Mikayla's favorite part of college was meeting new people.  Her advice to incoming freshmen is, "It won't be easy but it will all be worth it in the end. Keep pushing through it even when you want to give up." Mikayla is already off to new adventures between purchasing a new home and starting a new job. Congratulations Mikayla! We hope everyone will help us celebrate this determined graduate! Life may throw a few curve balls but smile anyway.
